Woodwork

WOODWORK: n. 1. objects or parts made of wood. 2. the interior wooden fittings, esp. of a house, as doors, stairways, or moldings.

In and of itself, there is nothing especially impressive about the word woodwork. It is when things start coming out of the woodwork that the magic begins; especially when it is people with similar experiences that are emerging. That's when hope starts to sprout, calmness is restored, and love is received. Thank you to all of those that have "come out of the woodwork" to share experiences that you have in common with our situation with Spencer right now. You have indeed helped us to feel more peace and hope. We've appreciated all the emails and phone calls. We have the greatest friends and family on Earth!

We started Spencer on medication last Thursday. He is taking Keppra. He has to take a dose every morning and every night. He of course hates it. (It really does taste nasty!) He hasn't had any seizures since starting the medicine, so we don't care if he hates it or not--he's taking it! We've since learned that the earlier epilepsy is detected in life and the earlier it is treated, the greater chance there is for him to outgrow it. So we feel good about the decision to give him medicine.

Spencer helped Brett mow the lawn last night. Does seeing things like this ever get old? It was so cute!

And so you don't think I only talk about and take pictures of Spencer, here is our latest photo shoot of Kali and her cousin, Kaleb on their 7 month birthday. Kali has quite the mullet, so I have been pulling them into little pigtails. Hopefully the hair on the top and sides of her head will catch up soon!
