The first week of July has become a week where my parents and siblings all get together. This year, B. was at a youth conference the last week of June, so I packed up the kids and headed home a few days earlier than everyone else.
This is the welcome I received:
Who wouldn't want to go home if this was the greeting they got?!?
For three whole days we played like crazy!
We...
jumped on the trampoline...

spent time in the swings....
and the slide...
...we drove cars...
and played in the sandbox...
We had a great time, but we were happy to have B. and the rest of the family show up. We celebrated the Fourth by going to the fireworks. While we were waiting we popped bubbles...
played chase...
and had lots of fun with family.

Watching the fireworks...

Look how intently Diego is watching the fireworks.
Then Saturday, we had a family reunion at the park. We got to see all my aunts, uncles, and cousins, and play. There was a small stream running through the park, which was of course the favorite with my kids.

After the reunion we went to visit B's grandma. This was the first time that Diego had met his great grandma. Look at that smile. Isn't he adorable!
Okay, so not so happy now. Gotta love that lower lip! :)
From there we had a BBQ. Grandpa made super yummy hamburgers!
And then we sat around the fire and talked.
We forgot to buy stuff for s'mores, so we had ice cream cones instead.
Then came the parade where we filled out sacks with candy and got to see some cool floats, and a whole bunch of advertising.
Little Man loved the train!
We finished up the week by going swimming at the local aquatic center.
This was Diego's first swim. He lasted about 5 minutes. :)
After this week, this is how we all felt. :)

Thanks, Mom & Dad for having us! We had a great time!
