AD-vice

This is my second attempt at blogging. My first blog was created when I was nine months pregnant with GF and consisted of exactly two posts. It was never made public, and probably never will be. Hopefully I will prove a more faithful blogger this time. To motivate myself (and my husband) to be a faithful blogger, I have decided to use this forum to post the weekly deals we find in the grocery ads. DH is a master at shopping the ads. He remembers the prices for everything, and can spot a good deal almost immediately. Several people have asked us to let them know when we find good shopping deals. That is now going to happen here. With gas prices these days, who can afford to buy anything at full price? We would also love to hear if any of you find good deals, coupons, etc. Let us know, and we will post it on this blog. We will of course only be using the ads from the Salt Lake area--sorry out of towners--and we generally only pay attention to things that we buy and use--so all the great deals out there may not be noted here. Let us know if we miss something! (Also, we'd love to know if you've seen a better deal somewhere else!)

Okay, so here is the first week of savings:

Albertsons (effective Wednesday, May 7-Tuesday, May 13, 2008):
With Preferred Saving Card
  • Yoplait Yogurt: $0.39 each for first 12
  • Banquet Pot Pies: 3 for $1 for first 24
  • Mix and Match over 250 items (cake mixes, granola bars, cereal, pancake mix, etc.): final price $1
  • Mix and Match 14 different items (Hunt's spaghetti, sloppy joe & BBQ sauce, snack puddings, etc.): 20 for $20--final price $0.75 when you spend $20 in single transaction with Savings card

Smith's (effective Wednesday, May 7-Tuesday, May 13, 2008): with Fresh Values Card

  • Kroger Ice cream or sherbet: 2 for $3
  • Mountain Dairy Milk: 3 for $6
  • Kroger Cheese: 2 for $5 (Did you know that if you buy the shredded cheese or shred the blocks then you can freeze it?)

Reams (effective Tuesday, May 6-Monday, May 12, 2008)

  • Kikkoman 10-12 oz Sweet & Sour, Teriyaki or Soy Sauce: 2 for $3
  • Check out their fruit, too! They always have the best!

Have fun shopping!

Nifty title bar. Did you make that and then import it as a photo?
